Katy Taylor to take on The Woodlands College Park in high school football action
The Katy Taylor High School football team will be gunning for its first win of the year Saturday, Sept. 15 when it hosts Conroe Woodlands College Park in a 6 p.m. game at Rhodes Stadium.
The Mustangs fell to 0-2 after a 49-14 loss to Klein on Friday, Sept. 7. Katy Taylor scored both of its touchdowns in the second half after falling behind 35-0 at halftime.
Clay Holgorsen was 14-of-18 for 147 yards and completed scoring strikes to Jalen Allen and Robbie Wells. The Mustangs finished with 238 yards and allowed 551.
The Cavaliers are 2-0 after rolling to a 35-12 win over Huntsville on Friday, Sept. 7. Woodlands College Park churned out 443 yards. Connor McPherson carved up Huntsville for 217 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. Nicholas Black also scored two touchdowns and rushed for 70 yards.
Katy Taylor will play at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory on Friday, Sept. 28 and will play Seven Lakes on Thursday, Oct. 4. The Mustangs will play at Houston Memorial on Friday, Oct. 26. All three games will begin at 7 p.m.
Woodlands College Park will play Clear Brook on Thursday, Sept. 20 in a 7 p.m. game and will play Oak Ridge on Friday, Oct. 5 in a 7:30 p.m. game. The Cavaliers will play at Conroe on Friday, Oct. 12 in a 7:30 p.m. game.
