Rover Oaks Pet Resort, Natural Pawz accepting donations for Paws Houston

The Rover Oaks Pet Resort and Natural Pawz are partnering up to host Pawz for a Cauze.

The fundraiser will seek to raise money and awareness of Paws Houston, an organization committed to reuniting terminally ill patients with their pets.

Rover Oaks in Houston and Katy and ten Natural Pawz locations will take collections for Paws Houston until Thanksgiving. Donors will receive a special Pawz for a Cauze leaf display at the wall of the location their donation was made. Once the drive is complete all the leaves will be collected and brought to Paws Houston to show the support it received.

Paws Houston has been helping pet owners remain close to their pets as they deal with serious health issues since 2002. Paws bring pets to hospitals, hospices, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers when it can. Other services it provides include pet care, foster care and pet adoption. Paws Houston is also active in educating people about the benefits and risks of animal companionship for the terminally ill.

"By helping our clients keep their animals, we help them to keep at least one part of the life they enjoyed," said Donna Dishman, executive director of Paws Houston, in a press release. "For our clients, animal companionship has been an important part of their lives."
