Faith West grad Kurt helps in University of Dallas victory
Faith West Academy graduate Christina Kurt contributed 11 points in a 59-55 win Saturday, Nov. 24 by University of Dallas over conference opponent Claremont McKenna-Harvey Mudd-Scripps Colleges at Ducey Gym in Claremont, according to the University of Dallas website.
The University of Dallas sophomore guard also recorded five rebounds in the win, which improved Dallas' record to 3-1 on the season. Dallas' next game is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at home against Southwestern Adventist University.
Kurt is a 2011 graduate of Faith West Academy, where she starred on the basketball court. As a senior (2010-11) Kurt was first-team all-district, first-team all-state, district most valuable player, TAPPS all-star nominee and TAPPS all-star runner-up MVP while helping Faith West to a state runner-up finish. As a junior (2009-10) Kurt was first-team all-district, second-team all-state and team MVP. She was first-team all-district, honorable mention all-state and team MVP during her sophomore season (2008-09). Kurt also participated in cross country as a sophomore when she was a member of the all-state team and team MVP. She was born Sept. 9, 1990 the daughter of Paul and Karen Kurt. Kurt is a pre-law major at University of Dallas. She is from Katy.
