Cinco Charities holds groundbreaking ceremony for Ballard House
The Ballard House, a facility that will provide 24 guest suites for medical patients and their families, will be constructed in Cinco Ranch in 2013.
Cinco Charities of Katy recently held a groundbreaking for The Ballard House, a 20,000-square-foot facility that will provide 24 guest suites for medical patients and their families.
Designed by PBK Architects, the two-story structure will include a chapel, family room, game room, library, boardroom, community kitchen and dining room. The house will also have laundry facilities and a serenity garden.
The facility will be located in Cinco Ranch at the northeast corner of South Mason Road and Cinco Park Road, adjacent to Creech Elementary School. Construction will begin in early 2013, with completion slated for November, according to a press release.
Cinco Charities has been providing temporary housing for medical patients in local hotels and extended-stay facilities since 2008. It was founded in 2006 by Keller Williams Premier Realty in Katy.
The Ballard House is named for Monty and Erin Ballard, who formed The Ballard Foundation to raise funds for the facility's construction. Erin Ballard became involved with Cinco Charities while being treated for cancer at the MD Anderson Regional Care Center in Katy.
Cinco Charities is currently seeking volunteers for the new facility and is offering naming rights sponsorships for the 24 guest suites and public rooms in the home.
Cinco Charities is located at 22762 Westheimer Parkway, Suite 439, Houston.
