Methodist West Houston Hospital holds free heart health screenings, seminar
Katy and West Houston community members receive free lipid panel tests at Methodist West Houston Hospital.
Methodist West Houston Hospital provided free heart screenings and a seminar Thursday, Nov. 8.
More than 100 members of the community took advantage of the free screenings and learned about the newest treatment for heart disease.
Additionally, four doctors from the hospital, Su Min Chang, Michael Mitschke, Nilesh Mathuria and Javier Lafuente, held a panel discussion to address common heart problems and answer questions.
Early detection and regular screenings help reduce the risks associated with heart disease, according to a press release from the hospital. Methodist West offers noninvasive heart scans that allow individuals to learn what their health risks are. A full scan takes less than one hour.
Methodist West will continue to hold free events that promote healthy living, according to the release. The next heart screening will be Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.
