Canstruction holds Houston Colossal Awards Banquet

Building designer Newell Cheatheam of Newell's Designs and his wife Sharon, office manager at Wallace Garcia Wilson Architects, attend the 2012 Canstruction Houston Colossal Awards Banquet at Hotel Sorella CityCentre.

The Canstruction Houston Colossal Awards Banquet was recently held at Hotel Sorella CityCentre in Houston.

The event collected 101,146 cans and had 29 engineering and architectural firms competing to build with the cans, according to a press release.

The competition began in 1992 and has collected more than 400,000 pounds of food for the Houston Food Bank since its inception.

The attendees included Newell Cheatheam, president of Newell's Designs, along with his wife, Sharon.
