Mayde Creek High School NJROTC remembers Pearl Harbor attack
Students in the Mayde Creek High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps commemorated the World War II Pearl Harbor attack on Hawail at an event held Sunday, Dec. 9.
"Seventeen cadets of our Mayde Creek NJROTC Unit give up their Sunday afternoon to help Katy VFW Post 9182 and Katy American Legion Post 164 honor World War II veterans in a Pearl Harbor Day event, followed by the retirement of approximately 100 U.S. flags. They gave their free time on a Sunday to put on a Navy blue dress uniform to retire our nation's flag by burning them with respect and dignity, so that they will not be seen in a trash can or a landfill," according to a high school press release.
Mayde Creek High School is at 19202 Groschke Road, Houston.
