Lone Star Symphonic Band earns Silver Scroll from John Philip Sousa Foundation

The Lone Star Symphonic Band has been given the Silver Scroll by John Philip Sousa Foundation, it was recently announced.
According to a press release from Lone Star Symphonic Band, "the Sudler Silver Scroll is North America's most prestigious award for community concert bands. The purpose of the award is to identify, recognize and honor those community bands that have demonstrated particularly high standards of excellence in concert activities over a period of several years, and which have played a significant and leading role in the cultural and musical environment in their respective communities."
"I could not be more excited and pleased that the Lone Star Symphonic Band has received the Sudler Silver Scroll," said Beverly Buis, Lone Star Symphonic Band president, in the release. "This is definitely a major accomplishment and it is exciting that we received the award during our milestone 20th season."
