Filing period announced for Katy ISD board candidates
Katy Independent School District has announced that the filing period for board of trustee candidates will open Wednesday, Jan. 30.
According to a district release, the filing period for the Saturday, May 11 election will close at 5 p.m. Friday, March 1. Applications can be picked up at the Katy ISD Education Support Complex, room 1610, 6301 S. Stadium Lane, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Katy Independent School District serves more than 6,200 students in an area that encompasses 181 square miles in East Texas. The district's boundaries stretch from Houston's energy corridor approximately 16 miles west of downtown Houston to a few miles west of the city of Katy along Interstate 10. The district has 53 schools including six four-year high schools.
