Pope John XXIII grad Costello helps in SFA win

Pope John XXIII High School graduate Patrick Costello played for Stephen F. Austin State University in its 65-51 win over conference rival Lamar on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Montagne Center in Beaumont, the SFA website reported.

Costello helped the Lumberjacks improve to 18-2 on the season and 9-1 in the Southland Conference.

SFA's next game is 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 at home against Central Arkansas.

Costello is a freshman forward for Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a 2012 graduate of Pope John XXIII High School in Katy, where he scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds per game. Costello is from Houston.
