Relay For Life overnight event scheduled for March 22
There will be a Relay For Life of Katy overnight event at 7 p.m. Friday, March 22.
According to a press release from Relay For Life of Katy, "Relay For Life is a fun-filled, overnight event that mobilizes communities throughout the country to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones and empower others to fight back against cancer. Teams gather with tents and sleeping bags to participate in the largest fundraising walk in the nation. The event begins with a cancer survivors lap celebrating those who have survived cancer or who are currently battling cancer. Games, music, and live entertainment encourage people all through the night. Some teams also hold creative fundraisers at their campsites during the event."
"The funds raised through our Relay For Life event enables us to continue our investment in the fight against cancer by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back," said Mike Dailey, Relay For Life of Katy/West Houston event chair, in a press release. "Due to the generosity of our volunteers and donors, the money raised by Relay For Life participants goes directly to the American Cancer Society's lifesaving programs."
