Katy ISD announces livestock show, rodeo
The Katy Independent School District scheduled a livestock show and rodeo for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, it was recently announced.
According to a Katy Independent School District release, "This year's rodeo includes a full line-up of events, including calf scramble, mutton bustin' and stick horse races for youth each night, followed by traditional bull riding, saddle bronc and bareback riding and team roping. The Katy Rodeo was named Cowboys Choice Rodeo of 2010 by CPRA."
The event will not be held at the school, but will take place at Fairgrounds, at Interstate 10 and FM 1463, Katy.
The Katy Independent School District serves more than 6,200 students in an area that encompasses 181 square miles in East Texas. The district's boundaries stretch from Houston's energy corridor approximately 16 miles west of downtown Houston to a few miles west of the city of Katy along Interstate 10.
