Katy ISD announces spelling bee winners

The Katy Independent School District recently announced the winners of its 2013 spelling bee.
According to a press release, "Bonnie Holland Elementary student Raksheet Kota won first in the 2013 Katy ISD spelling bee. Kota's winning word was Spencerian in the bee that went 17 rounds for more than two hours. The 2013 runner-up is Kalyanee Nanaware, a student at WoodCreek Junior High. Both students went home with a large trophy donated by Custom Awards and Engraving, in Katy. Both students will advance to the HoustonPBS Regional Spelling Bee in March.
