Seven Lakes grad Russell contributes to Pepperdine victory
Seven Lakes High School graduate Atif Russell played for Pepperdine University in a 52-50 win at home against conference rival Loyola Marymount University on Feb. 14 at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu, Calif., Pepperdine's website reported.
The freshman guard helped the the Waves improve to 12-13 on the season and 4-8 in the West Coast Conference.
Pepperdine's next game is 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 on the road against Santa Clara University.
Russell is a freshman guard for Pepperdine University and a 2012 graduate of Seven Lakes High School in Katy. Russell is from Katy and is the son of Leonard and LaDonna Russell.
