Faith West Academy grad Kurt plays in Dallas loss
Faith West Academy graduate Christina Kurt scored five points for the University of Dallas in its 82-68 loss to conference rival Trinity University on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Sams Gymnasium in San Antonio, the UD website reported.
The sophomore guard also recorded six rebounds, one assist and a steal for the Crusaders, who are 11-14 on the season and 4-11 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Kurt is a 2011 graduate of Faith West Academy, where she starred on the basketball court. As a senior (2010-11) Kurt was first-team all-district, first-team all-state, district most valuable player, TAPPS all-star nominee and TAPPS all-star runner-up MVP while helping Faith West to a state runner-up finish. As a junior (2009-10) Kurt was first-team all-district, second-team all-state and team MVP. She was first-team all-district, honorable mention all-state and team MVP during her sophomore season (2008-09). Kurt also participated in cross country as a sophomore when she was a member of the all-state team and team MVP. The Katy native is the daughter of Paul and Karen Kurt and is a pre-law major.
