Katy athletes in action: Men's basketball

The following men's basketball players, all with Katy high school ties, will see action this week:

Kevin Foster, Santa Clara University

About Foster: Named one of Texas' top 30 recruits, Foster played at Morton Ranch for coach Corey Palmer from 2004-2008. In his senior year (2007-2008), Foster was named MVP and All-District 18-5A First Team. He was also named All-District 18-5A Team and All-Greater Houston Second Team, both in his junior year (2006-2007). He is the son of Rick and Gilda Foster.

Trey Pinkney, Stephen F. Austin State University

High school: Seven Lakes

About Pinkney: The Katy native is a freshman guard for Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a 2012 graduate of Seven Lakes High School in Katy, where he was MVP.

Patrick Costello, Stephen F. Austin State University
Position: Forward
High School: Pope John XXIII
This week: Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Sam Houston State University
About Costello: The Houston native is a freshman forward for Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a 2012 graduate of Pope John XXIII High School in Katy, where he scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds per game.

Jaylon Jones, Truman State University
Position: Forward
High school: Seven Lakes
This week: Thursday, Feb. 21 vs. Lindenwood University
About Jones: The Katy native is a freshman forward for Truman State University. He is a 2012 graduate of Seven Lakes High School in Katy, where he won all-district honors.

Seth Goodman, Southern Wesleyan University
Position: Forward
High school: Morton Ranch
This week: Saturday, Feb. 23 at Emmanuel College
About Goodman: The Houston native, a 2010 graduate of Morton Ranch High School in Katy, is a junior forward for Southern Wesleyan University.
