Katy athletes in action: Men's basketball

The following men's basketball players, all with Katy high school ties, will see action this week:

Seth Goodman, Southern Wesleyan University
Position: Forward
High school: Morton Ranch High School
This week: Saturday, Feb. 23, at Emmanuel College
About Goodman: Goodman is a junior forward for Southern Wesleyan University. The Houston native is a 2010 graduate of Morton Ranch High School in Katy.

Kevin Foster, Santa Clara University
Position: Guard
High school: Morton Ranch High School
This week: Saturday, Feb. 23, at University of Portland
About Foster: Named one of Texas' top 30 recruits, Foster played at Morton Ranch for coach Corey Palmer in 2004-08. His senior year (2007-08), Foster was named MVP and All-District 18-5A First Team. He was also named All-District 18-5A Team and All-Greater Houston Second Team, both in junior year (2006-07). He is the son of Rick and Gilda Foster.

Jaylon Jones, Truman State University
Position: Forward
High school: Seven Lakes High School
This week: Saturday, Feb. 23, at Lincoln University
About Jones: Jones is a freshman forward for Truman State University. He is a 2012 graduate of Seven Lakes High School in Katy, where he won all-district honors. Jones is from Katy.
